243: My Unexpected Self-Care Practice (And Why It’s Not a Luxury)

Are certain self-care practices just a luxury? This week, I’m sharing a practice I’ve done for years–getting a massage. I’ll share why this is important for me, and the role it plays in my life and wellbeing.

 

I’ll talk about:

  • Why I felt resistance to this practice at first, and what led me to try it out
  • How this practice helps me care for my body, and why we often dismiss this aspect of our care
  • How pre-deciding a block of time weekly for my self-care helps me prioritize it
  • What you can do to get started if you have been neglecting self-care

 

What might seem like a luxury is actually essential to caring for my whole self in heart, mind, and body, and it impacts the rest of my everyday life. I hope this episode inspires you to name what you need and to seek out the self-care that will enable you to live out what matters in your life and work.
